A Thanksgiving To Remember
I remember the times
When my grandma was here
And she'd visit for Thanksgiving
And I'd pull up her chair
And I'd sit down and listen
And she'd talk of old time
And we'd both have a glass
Of her favorite wine
Then we'd gather at the table
And she would say grace
And I'd have the biggest
Smile on my face
Because she was so sweet
In the way she would say it
And not only that
But the way she'd convey it
Well dinner was over
And it was time to drive back
And I'd fix her a plate
For her midnight snack
And I'd walk her to her door
And say goodbye
And then give her a big hug
With a tear in my eye
My grandma since passed
And God rest her soul
But every Thanksgiving
I make it my rule
To remember her way
And the joy that she gave me
And those sweet dear times
When I'd pass her the gravy
