A Lovely Trip to Heaven
Hey folks, I just got back from a lovely trip to Heaven. I am old so I have started to do some advance work on the afterlife. Nice place Heaven! Serene. Plenty of time to ponder the meaning of existence. As I was leaving I noticed that there were no women here, so I decided to ask the Gate Keeper why there were no women present.
Peter was slightly taken aback by the question, but he answered. "Well Pilgrim, thou dost knowest that Mr. G (as he is affectionately known in the Blessed Realm) was mightily angered with the apple incident, so he proclaimed a separate Heaven for women. It's just down the road, on the left, and a little before Dog Heaven. And that is why women cannot become Catholic priests." Well that answers that question.
Throughout history women have been marginalized, exploited, and discriminated against. Rarely have women had the same rights and privileges as their male counterparts. Does it also explain the horrors inflicted upon women, especially in times of warfare? I never would have thought that women would be second class citizens in Heaven just as here on earth.
I am vying for a visitor's visa to Valhalla. I will be sure to let you know how that eventuates.
Peace!
