Stephen and Vanessa Bronder of Jefferson Hills, PA are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Jaclyn Ann Bronder to Dr. Brian David Modena, son of Ralph and Linda Modena of Princeton, WV. Jaclyn is the granddaughter of Mary Rulli of Vanderbilt, PA while Brian is the grandson of Al and Mary Modena of Richmond, VA and Eva Sutphin of Bluefield, WV.
Jaclyn graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations/Advertising, and will complete a Master of Science degree in Health and Fitness at the University of Pittsburgh on August 9, 2014. Brian attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech before completing a Medical Degree at West Virginia University School of Medicine. He will complete Fellowship Training in Allergy and Immunology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC's Division of Allergy and Immunology on July 1, 2014. Brian will be working as a clinician at University of California, San Diego and as researcher in genomics at the Scripps Research Institute beginning July 2014.
Brian proposed to Jackie while overlooking the Pittsburgh skyline from an overlook on Mt. Washington on the evening of May 4, 2014, following their participation in the Pittsburgh Marathon earlier that day. Jackie and Brian began the day together in early hours of the morning, and ended it by celebrating their new commitment with a dinner that included both sets of parents; Jackie's brother, Stephen; and Jackie's aunt, Karen Macko. Jackie and Brian are relocating to San Diego, California and planning a wedding in Pittsburgh for August 2015.
