MICHAEL C. GAERTNER
Congratulations to Michael C. Gaertner for winning the 2014 Best Pianist award in the Marilyn Horne Song Competition at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA. As a result of the award, Michael and the best vocalist winner will perform recitals in five cities in 2015. Michael is a 2008 graduate of North Allegheny High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in piano performance from Ithaca College in 2012, and a master's degree in collaborative piano from the University of Michigan in 2014. Michael has accepted an appointment as pianist and chorus director for the Shreveport Opera. Michael is the son of Christine Cipriani and Gary Gaertner of Wexford.
