John and Patty Niskach of Pittsburgh are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie, to Matthew Basl, son of David and Lois Basl of Greensburg. Melanie is a 2006 graduate of Seton-LaSalle High School and a 2012 graduate of California University of PA, in which she achieved her Master of Science degree and works as a Speech-Language Pathologist for Genesis Healthcare at a skilled nursing facility in Irwin, PA. Her fiancé is a 2006 graduate of Greensburg Salem High School and also graduated from Cal U, where the couple first met. Matthew works as a Finance Manager for C. Harper Autogroup in Belle Vernon, PA. A December, 2014 wedding is planned at St. John Chrysostom Byzantine Catholic Church in Pittsburgh.
