Alzheimer's
It is indeed a sad affair
And a painful one
to go through
Especially when a
family member
Is starting not to
recognize you
Yes it's heartbreaking, and pitiful, and unbearable
Because you're remembering how they
used to be
So independent, and aware, and alert
And never needing help from you or from me
Alzheimer's is very sad
to witness
Because you feel so helpless and small
And you would do anything in the whole wide world
To have them recognize
you at all
