MARGARET CONLEY Margaret Conley will turn 100 on February 3. She is the oldest of four daughters born to James McGinley, a Pittsburgh fireman, and Mary Hyland McGinley, a native of Ireland. Margaret, known to friends and family as Peggy, graduated from Mt. Mercy College, now Carlow University, in 1936 and worked for Duquesne Light until she married Lawrence Conley in 1941. They have four children and seven grandchildren. Larry's work for Blaw Knox Co. took them from Pittsburgh to Richland, Washington, where his company was involved in the Hanford Project, back to Pittsburgh, and finally to Cleveland. When Larry retired in 1976 they moved back to Pittsburgh and lived in Bethel Park for more than 20 years. Larry passed away in 1996. Peggy did volunteer work all of her life, spending more than 30 years as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, first delivering meals in Cleveland and then helping to prepare and pack meals in Bethel Park. Today she lives at Marian Manor Nursing Home where a party to celebrate her birthday was held on January 31.
