The engagement is announced of Alexis Miller to Eric Simanek.
The bride-to-be is a law clerk for the Honorable Mary Ellen Barbera, Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals. Alexis is from McLean, VA and a graduate of Northwestern University's School of Music and American University's Washington College of Law.
The prospective groom is a Senior Associate in the Washington, DC office of Reed Smith. He is a Pittsburgh native and a graduate of Middlebury College and American University's Washington College of Law.
Alexis is the daughter of Harris Miller, a Pittsburgh-area native and patron of the arts, and Deborah Kahn, a Boston native and author of The Roads Taken, both of McLean, Virginia. Eric is the son of Barbara Simanek, a partner at K&L Gates, and Dan Simanek, a database administrator at Federated Investors, both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The couple will be married in September and will reside in Bethesda, Maryland.
