Mr. Brandon P. Thompson, son of Kirk and Sally Thompson of Bethel Park, and Ms. Krista L. Peckyno, daughter of Tim Peckyno of Bethel Park and Karen Peckyno of Pittsburgh, have announced their engagement.
The groom attended Duquesne University, where he earned a B.A. in Physics, an M.S. in Education, and will receive his M.B.A. in Spring 2016. After serving on active duty with the United States Navy for six years, Brandon is now a Reservist affiliated with the Navy Information Operations Command located on Fort George G. Meade in Maryland, and employed as Senior Project Manager for the Advanced Development Program at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in West Mifflin.
The bride-to-be matriculated from the University of Central Florida, where she earned a B.S. in Pre-Law and a Master of Nonprofit Management. She later received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and works as in-house counsel for GENCO, a subsidiary of FedEx. Peckyno sits on the Board of Trustees at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall and an Advisory Board Member for the University of Central Florida's College of Health & Public Affairs.
The happy couple met while attending Bethel Park High School, where they graduated in 2001 and 2003, respectively. An April 2016 wedding is planned at Pittsburgh's Grand Hall at the Priory followed by a honeymoon in Venice, Cinque Terre, and Capri.
