Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary to John and Betsy Raget.
John and Betsy Raget celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on November 6, 2015. John, originally from the Greenfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh and Betsy (Balazs), originally from Donora, PA, met while working in downtown Pittsburgh. They were married on November 6, 1965, at the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Greenfield.
Together they raised two daughters, Michelle (Bob Pitchford) and Carrie. They have two grandchildren, Allison and Zach, whom they greatly adore. Prior to retirement, John had a jewelry and engraving business in the Clark Building in downtown Pittsburgh for over 40 years. Betsy worked in the home and later returned to the workforce as an insurance underwriter.
The family celebrated this summer and a commemorative liturgy presided by the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh, William Skurla, was held.
