WILLIE J. MURCHISON
Mr. Willie J. Murchison a WWII Veteran, now age 97 was drafted in the US Army in 1941. He did his basic training at Camp Shelby in Mississippi. Later, he boarded the Sante Lucia ship which they were unable to dock for 42 days, because of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Finally, they dock in Australia, an then he was wounded in New Guinea South Pacific. After serving 3 years overseas, he was discharged. then after 30 days he re-enlisted and while at Fort McNair, in Washington DC, he met and married his lovely wife Anna. They were blessed with two children while stationed overseas in Germany.
We salute & honor you Mr. Willie Murchison, for your 24 years of Military Service in the US Army. We thank you for serving, and making Pittsburgh your home.
