Golden Wedding Anniversary
Congratulations to lifelong residents of North Braddock, James and Barbara Novak who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. When Jim proposed to Cookie on Valentine's Day, she said YES and they were married at St. William Church on April 16, 1966. After graduation from Scott High School, Jim served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wainwright and Cookie became a homemaker.
Later, Jim was employed by US Steel, and then Pepsi-Cola from which he retired. He also attended the Community College of Allegheny County. Cookie was employed by Allegheny County, Shuman Center from which she retired after 30 years. They have three daughters, three sons-in-law, and four grandchildren. Both are members of Good Shepherd Parish and life members of the North Braddock Volunteer Fire Dept. They have dedicated their lives to supporting their family and friends, and have always been active in community service. Their marriage is a blessing to all who know them.
