60th Wedding Anniversary
Robert F. Carney & Eileen Carney were married on May 25, 1957 at St. Titus Catholic Church in Aliquippa. This year, they celebrated the 60th anniversary of that wedding with a family dinner at Rizzo's Restaurant, followed by Mass at St. John Baptist de La Salle Church in Delmont. Throughout their marriage, they have been active members of the church, singing together in the St. John's choir, as well as the Diocesan choir in Greensburg. They've also raised ten children together - Robert F. Carney, Jr., Patrick J. Carney, Bernadette Carney, John P. Carney (m. Terry Carney), Colleen Carney Stephens (m. Daniel P. Stephans), Timothy J. Carney, Thomas E. Carney (m. Chrissy Carney), Maureen Vorisek (m. Mike Vorisek), Erin M. Lantzer (m. Jeff Lantzer), and Robert J. Roush. In total, the Carneys have nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. After his retirement from Gulf Oil Company, Robert spent numerous hours volunteering at the Clelian Heights School, while Eileen enjoyed working with the babies at the local daycare. Robert is an avid gardener, and Eileen loves reading and baking.
