ERNIE ZIGA
My father, Ernie Ziga, is a WWII veteran who served on Saipan directing the repair and maintenance of B-29s when he was only 23. He considers his time in the Air Force during WWII to be among the most important years of his life, saying that he learned discipline and independence. He still enjoys sharing stories about his experiences. This sacrifice that interrupted his career and education were characteristic of the sacrifices he made throughout life for his family and job. I will always be proud of my father, his honesty, work ethic, quest for learning, and service to his country.
