Anchorage, Alaska, son of The
Reverend Peter C. and Mr s.
Pamela (Bunje) Bower,
Pittsburgh, PA were mar ried on
October 5, 2018, in Petritoli,
Italy. The groom's uncle, The
Reverend David Bunje, Los
Angeles, CA of?ciated. The
late after noon ceremony took
place in the Petritoli Town
Garden over looking the rolling hills and agricultural lands of
the Le Marche Region of Italy. A wedding feast and dancing
followed in the enchanting candlelit town square. Attending
the bride were: Mr s. Meredith (Shiels) Apelberg , Rockville,
MD, Matron of Honor : Mr s. Jacklyn (Honig) Watt, Detroit,
MI; Mr s. Laura (Buletza) McKelvie, Hoboken, NJ; and Ms.
Soham Sen, New Yor k City, NY. The Best Man was the
brother of the groom, Mr. Corey Bower, Buffalo, NY. Brother,
Mr. Robin Bower, Sudbur y, Canada, Mr. Henr y Mar tone,
Redondo Beach, CA, Mr. James Paul Antoniono, Fallon, NV,
Zak Weidner, McClean, VA, were the groomsmen.
Bridesmaid, Mr s. Tia (Gupta) Malhotra, New Yor k City, NY
and groomsman, Mr. Timothy Miller, Pittsburgh, PA, were
unable to attend. Flower gir ls were Eliana and Norah
Apelberg . Also par ticipating in the ceremony, were friends of
the couple: Mr. Rober t Sahm, Denver, CO on acoustic
guitar ; vocalist Ms. Erin Krom, New Yor k City, NY and
reader s Ms. Amy Paul, Mr. Scotty Or r, Ms. Elizabeth Hodges
and Mr. Nicholas Williamson all of Anchorage, AK. Last
minute logistics were handled by the brother of the bride,
Mr. Andrew Linn Snead, Denver, CO. The bride wore a white
lace, cap sleeve, boat neck, v-back, sheath dress with cour t
train. Her bridal bouquet consisted of white king protea,
dahlias and olive tree twigs. The stems were wrapped in a
white handkerchief embroidered by her mater nal great-
grandmother. The recessional song was Fly Me to the Moon.
During the wedding feast the bride wore a silk wedding
shawl c1900 belonging to her mater nal great-great-
grandmother. Over an 11 day period, 68 friends and family
member s from ?ve countries joined the couple for
sightseeing and experiencing the customs and culture of
Rome, Tor re di Palme and Petritoli. Guests ar riving ear ly in
Rome joined the couple for sightseeing tour s. Guest had
the options of traveling by a private bus or their per sonal
car s from Rome to the medieval, hilltop town of Petritoli for
a welcome dinner and the of?cial star t of the wedding
celebration. Over the next four days guest par ticipated in
optional winer y, cheese factor y, and olive oil tour s, cooking
classes, tr uf?e hunting and a grape stomping event; old
friends caught up and new friendships for med; after a
twenty year friendship Miss Snead and Mr. Bower
exchanged vows to become husband and wife. The majority
of guests stayed in the 32 bedroom Palazzo Mannocchi.
The Palazzo included seven kitchens, two swimming pools,
two hot tubs and numerous indoor and outdoor sitting
areas. The remaining guests stayed in private residencies
adjoining the Palazzo. The bride is a 2000 graduate of
Mount Lebanon High School, Mt Lebanon PA; holds a BA in
Inter national Business from Penn State Univer sity and a
Master s in Business Administration, Entrepreneur ship and
F ilm from The Ster n School of Business at New Yor k
Univer sity. She wor ks as a feature ?lm producer. Mr. Bower
is a 2000 graduate of Shady Side Academy, Fox Chapel PA,
and a graduate of United States Naval Academy. He ?ew
F/A-18s in the U.S. Navy and wor ked in the Defense
Attaché Of?ce at the U.S. Embassy, Paris, France. On
exchange with the French Navy, he ?ew French ?ghter
aircraft off of the French aircraft car rier, Char les de Gaulle.
Mr. Bower is cur rently a Lieutenant Commander, US Naval
Reser ves and a Pilot with FedEx.
