RUTH and CLYDE MEANOR Ruth & Clyde Meanor of Moon Township celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year by holding a family reunion on July 11, 2015 at Moon Park. In attendance were their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews in addition to Clyde's sibling, Hilah. Local relatives were joined by relatives from as far away as Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Mexico, Ohio and West Virginia. Ruth and Clyde were born and raised in the Moon Township area, went to school together, and both graduated from Moon High in 1943. After high school, Clyde joined the Navy while Ruth went to work at Dravo and then at Coraopolis National Bank. Shortly after, Clyde returned from World War II, they started dating and were married on Friday, June 16, 1950. They have three children - Parry, Phil, and Betsy. Both have family roots in the Moon Area dating back to the early 1800s and their childhood homes were located on Sharon Road and Beaver Grade Road. Both families also had deep ties to Sharon Community Presbyterian Church and Clyde is one of the longest serving members of the church. Rarely apart, it is common to see them tooling around town together with Ruth likely wearing one of her trademark red hats.
