JOAN (PRANIS) and JOSEPH
KENNEY
Joan (Pranis) and Joseph Kenney of Squirrel Hill, PA will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, May 28, 2017, with a dinner for family and friends at Edgewood Country Club.
The Kenney's were married at the Presentation of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in East Pittsburgh, 50 years ago. Joseph served in the Navy in World War II as an aviation mechanic 1st class in the South Pacific. He then graduated from Brown University as a Mechanical Engineer. He joined Westinghouse Electric in Pittsburgh and worked in Philadelphia, Kansas City and Pittsburgh. He left Westinghouse to establish a company that distributed safety products (Miller Safety Products located in O'Hara). Joan graduated as an RN from Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1957, and California University of Pennsylvania. She worked at Shadyside Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing for 30 years. They then worked together at Miller Safety for 26 years.
In retirement, Joe and Joan have enjoyed living in Pittsburgh and winters in Stuart, Florida.
